In Taiwan Designers’ Week 2011, three teams in Asus Design Center (ADC) Taipei, Singapore and Shanghai come together as one entity to showcase exclusively design applications that explores the unity of SENSES with human interaction.

The designers’ works reflect the ASUS approach towards creating an unique user experience based on the three key elements of ADC design motto: Digi Craft, Tech Easy and ECO Care. This exhibition is part of a continuous initiative to challenge the limits of design by pushing the boundary of human sensibility and creating innovation through interactions that trigger the emotions, memories and pleasure.

In SoundsFun exhibition, Asus Design Center explored the two big themes of “Senses + Engage” and “Senses + Wonderment” to present a series of lifestyle ideas playing with the sense of sound. Our works, categorized into four directions - “SOUND PLAY”, “SOUND MEMORY”, “SOUND INDICATION” and “SOUND LISTEN”, seek to delight visitors and touch their hearts with the various expression of joy, humor, interaction, conflict, contrast, imagination.

Drum Light is a lamp designed to translate drumbeats into changes in light intensity. Hit the drums in various ways and create instantly different light effects.

Sound Waveis a set of earphones visualizing the metaphor of sound signal on its cable. The cable retains its shape after being stretched, making wire management easy and tidy.

Sound Match is a simple game of memory test inspired by a childhood favorite card matching game. Pick up the houses and test your ability to remember and match the location of 8 different pairs of familiar sounds.

Echo is a music amplifier. Using sound reflection, the music from the earphone is amplified and directed back to the audience.

Pitter-Patter Cloud Lamp is a desk lamp that tells the weather in a new and fantastic way. The light changes as the weather changes and it comes with the sound of birds chirping, raindrops or thunderstorm etc. , making your desk lively and vivid .

NATURE SOUND integrates familiar sound into your home slipper. It conjures up nostalgic memories of pleasant environments as you walk around in your home.

Water Drop is a thermometer with water inside displaying three different forms to show the temperature. People can hear, see and feel the climate change reported by Nature itself.

The memory of a melody becomes your unique identification code. Music Lock transforms the touch experience into a process of music creation and makes unlocking experience more personalized and fun.

Silent Ear is an ear plug in the shape of an ear. Wearing
it transports you into your own noiseless world without
being noticed by others.

Wind bells is a wind chime which takes the form of a functional clothes hanger. It makes beautiful sound when it is not in use.

Percussion Chairs is a set of musical furniture that lets friends have fun exploring different sounds together. Try out each unique chair to create your individual melody and rhythm.
